Colour Masterbatch in vibrant household plastics, buckets, crates and furniture

Colour Masterbatch

Custom-formulated organic and inorganic pigment dispersions for polyolefin and engineering resin applications.

Colour Masterbatch is a custom pigment dispersion on a polyolefin or engineering-resin carrier, formulated to a specified Pantone or RAL shade with controlled tinting strength, heat stability and lightfastness for clean colouration of PE, PP and PVC products.

Custom-formulated colour masterbatches built from organic and inorganic pigments dispersed in a polyolefin carrier. Each formulation is engineered around three variables: heat stability at your processing temperature, lightfastness in the end-use environment, and food-contact or migration compliance where required. Shades are matched against Pantone or RAL references or against a physical sample using spectrophotometric sign-off before bulk production.

From reference to release

How a custom shade reaches your line.

  1. 01

    Reference captured

Pantone code, RAL number, LAB values or a physical swatch. We log the target and your resin, line and processing temperature.

  2. 02

    Pigment selected for fastness

Organic vs inorganic pigments chosen for heat stability, lightfastness and migration profile. Outdoor shades use UV-stable systems.

  3. 03

    Trial, sign-off, repeat

Lab-scale trial batch, spectrophotometer reads ΔE against the standard. Once approved, the standard becomes the QC reference for every future lot.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the recommended letdown ratio?

Letdown depends on shade depth, opacity and pigment loading. Pastel and translucent shades require less masterbatch. Deep, full-opacity colours require more, often with a white masterbatch co-additive for opacity. We tune each formula so one letdown ratio hits both colour and opacity targets.

Which polymers and pigment systems can you supply?

Standard carrier is polyolefin (PE or PP), compatible with HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP, PS, ABS, EVA and EVOH. Dedicated carriers are available for PET, PA, PC and TPU. Pigment systems span organic (azo, phthalocyanine, quinacridone, DPP), inorganic (iron oxide, ultramarine, complex inorganics), pearl (mica-titania), fluorescent and phosphorescent effects.

How do you match a Pantone or RAL reference?

We work from Pantone, RAL or a physical reference. Pigments are selected to achieve a close spectrophotometric match on your target resin under standard illumination, with a metameric check under multiple light sources. Heat stability, lightfastness and migration constraints are agreed before the formula is locked. A pre-production sample is signed off before bulk.

What heat stability and lightfastness can I expect?

Pigments are selected to match your processing temperature and end-use service environment. Standard organic pigments cover typical polyolefin processing and are rated on the Blue Wool scale for lightfastness. Inorganic complex pigments offer higher heat and lightfastness for demanding applications. Exact specifications are provided on the technical datasheet for each shade.

Can I get a trial sample of my exact colour?

Yes. We produce a lab match against your Pantone, RAL or physical reference, plus a moulded or extruded sample for sign-off. Sample shipping is free within India; export samples are available with freight at cost.

What’s the lead time for production orders?

Stock shades from the catalogue ship in 7-14 working days. Custom-matched colours take 3-4 weeks from approved match, including pigment procurement, dispersion trials and a sign-off batch. Repeat orders of approved formulas ship in 10-14 days.
