Odor Remover Masterbatch
Strip the smell out of recycled polymer. Ship a neutral pellet.
Odor Remover Masterbatch strips the smell out of recycled and processed plastic. It carries a mineral active that traps and locks odour molecules inside the pellet, leaving a clean, neutral material. Used by recyclers and converters making film, pipe and moulded parts from recycled feedstock and regrind.
A mineral-based odor absorber masterbatch, formulated on the odor-absorbing mineral with optional activated carbon synergy, pre-dispersed in an LDPE or LLDPE carrier. The active locks volatile odorants generated during polymer cracking, recycling and ageing inside the mineral, leaving a clean pellet. Used by post-consumer recycled material processors, geomembrane converters, pharma and food packaging lines that need a neutral, low-VOC pellet.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the recommended loading?
Loading depends on the feedstock odor severity. Virgin polymer with light masking duty requires less than standard recycled regrind. Heavily contaminated post-industrial regrind or aged stocks with strong cracking residue require higher doses. We recommend a short pellet sniff test before scaling to full production.
What active chemistry is used?
The base active is the odor-absorbing mineral, which traps polar volatile organics through physisorption and ion exchange. For tougher streams with amine and mercaptan signatures, we blend in activated carbon for non-polar adsorption capacity. Some grades use an additional organic odor binder. Final chemistry is matched to the feedstock.
Which resins is it compatible with?
Standard grades run on an LDPE or LLDPE carrier and are compatible with HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP and EVA, including all common recycled polyolefin streams. The active is a mineral and tolerates the standard polyolefin processing window without decomposition. PP carrier grades are available for processors who want to avoid resin mismatch in PP-heavy compounds.
Does it meet food-contact requirements?
Yes. The odor-absorbing mineral, activated carbon and the polyolefin carrier are listed actives for food-contact polymer use. Food-contact compliant grades are supplied to FDA 21 CFR 178.3297 and EU 10/2011 standards on request, with the appropriate declaration of compliance. Order the food-grade variant explicitly at quote stage; default industrial grades are not certified for direct food contact.
Can I get a trial sample?
Yes. We supply 1 to 2 kg trial samples for line evaluation. Share the feedstock type (recyclate, regrind, virgin), target end use and a description of the odor profile (sour, amine, smoky, fuel-like). We ship a matched grade with a Certificate of Analysis. Sample shipping is free within India; export samples are available with freight at cost.
What’s the lead time?
Standard grades ship in 7 to 14 working days from order confirmation. Custom formulations matched to a specific feedstock, with activated carbon synergy or food-contact certification, take 3 to 4 weeks. We confirm an exact timeline at the quote stage.
